When Moscow Metro was opened in 1935 it was the first underground railway system in the Soviet Union and the most ambitious architectural projects of those times. With its reflective marble walls, high ceilings and grand chandeliers it was designed to embody “the bright future” of the Soviet people.

When you ride the Moscow Metro, the history of the city’s past eight decades unfolds in front of you. The stations range in design, from palatial baroque marble and granite structures to modern iron and glass, revealing the tastes, ideas, hopes and disappointments of the times in which they were built.

Our team will be happy to arrange a shooting permit for you at any station you like!
